PYAP Officer Franco Nerona Attends National Children's Congress



PYAP Imus Chapter Officer Franco Nerona attended the National Children's Congress on October 27-28 at SOS Children's Village in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
The theme for this year's congress is "I can change the world, if you listen to me."

This year's National Children's Congress is part of the 7th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
The SOS children's congress aims to achieve the following:
a) For the children to know and understand their current situation locally, regionally and nationally;
b) For the children to analyze any positive and negative changes that have taken place as a result of government and civil society actions to implement the "A World Fit for Children" (WFC) and National Plan of Action for Children (NPAC) goals and targets;
c) For the children to identify the major gaps and constraints in achieving the goals and targets of nthe WFC and NPAC;
d) For the children to formulate their own vision of a community or society which is truly fit for children and where children's participation is genuinely valued; and
e) For the children to suggest concrete recommendations for the various sectors of society to do in order to improve their lives and make the Philippines more fit for children.
