PYAP Imus Chapter Officers and Members attend Advent Recollection

The Officers and Members of PYAP Imus Chapter attended the 2009 Advent
Recollection organized by PYAP Imus Chapter Advisers with a theme "Experiencing the Presence of God" on December 5, 2009 at SB Hall, Imus Municipal Hall, Imus, Cavite. The recollection was facilitated by Bro. Bal Ronato and Mr. Juriel Fabito, PYAP Advisers.
The first part of the recollection focused on self-knowledge using the "Johari Window" as a tool. The Johari Window is a model for self-awareness, Personal development, Group development and Understanding relationship.
Johari Window: Model
􀂄 Also referred to as a 'disclosure/feedback
model of self awareness', and an
'information processing tool‘
􀂄 Represents information - feelings,
experience, views, attitudes, skills,
intentions, motivation, etc - within or about a
person - in relation to their team, from four
Perspectives
􀂄 Can also be used to represent the same
information for a team in relation to other
teams

The Four Johari Window Perspectives
􀂄Called 'regions' or 'areas' or 'quadrants'.
􀂄Each contains and represents the information - feelings, motivation, etc – in terms of whether the information is known or unknown by the person, and whether the information is known or unknown by others in the team
􀂄The four regions, areas, quadrants, or perspectives are as follows, showing the quadrant numbers and commonly used names
Johari window four regions
1. Open area, open self, free area, free self, or 'the
arena‘: what is known by the person about him/herself and is also known by others -
2. Blind area, blind self, or 'blindspot‘: what is unknown by the person about him/herself but which others know
3. Hidden area, hidden self, avoided area, avoided self or 'façade’: what the person knows about him/herself that others do not know
4. Unknown area or unknown self: what is unknown by the person about him/herself and is also unknown by others.
Bro. Bal Ronato, O.Carm discussed "Experiencing God in my Relationship with Others" on the second half of the recollection. He used Psalm 139 to describe God's infinite love and care.
Psalm 139
"O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Where can I go
from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence? Even there Your hand
will lead me,
And Your right hand
will lay hold of me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will
overwhelm me,
And the light around me
will be night,” Even the darkness
is not dark to You,
And the night
is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light
are alike to You.
For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well."
The event was graced by Cavite Board Member Jun Del Rosario, Imus Community Development Assistance Office (CDAO) head Ms. Tina H. Viegan, RSW and her staff.
